Saudi Arabia is the largest market for building Interiors in the GCC region
Saudi Arabia continues to be the region’s strongest country
in the building sector in terms of number and size of projects lined up for
completion over the next few years.
With $784 billion worth of projects currently underway, the market offers strong growth potential to international interior and design companies.
Upcoming mega-projects in the country include the King Abdullah Financial District, Kingdom City, and Jazan Economic City. Along with these new mega-projects, Saudi Arabia has undertaken a major renovation and refurbishment program to upgrade old public buildings using sustainable products and ‘smart’ technology.
As the largest market for building interiors and fit outs in the GCC region, Saudi Arabia provides numerous opportunities across its various sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, education, health care and retail.
The country’s market touched $3.6 billion in 2014 and is predicted to grow at the rate of 7 percent between 2014 and 2015. It is estimated that spending on interior finishing items will grow by 13.7 percent by 2017.
